Deepavali Eve & Deepavali~

Since Hark Cafe is located so near to Little India, the festive mood sort of rubbed off some of the customers who visited us on Deepavali Eve & Deepavali~ Sorry to disappoint~ there wasn't any Bollywood kind of dancing on display :p

Just a brief introduction on Deepavali from Wikipedia~

Diwali, also called Deepavali (Sanskrit: दीपावली) is a major Hindu festival that is also very significant in Sikhism and Jainism. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. The festival of Diwali is about harvesting. Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional diyas (as illustrated). Fireworks are associated with the festival in many regions of India.
Diwali is celebrated for five consecutive days at the end of Hindu month of Ashwayuja. It usually occurs in October/November, and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals in India. Diwali comes exactly twenty days after Dussehra. Hindus, Jains and Sikhs alike regard it as a celebration of life and use the occasion to strengthen family and social relationships. For Jains it is one of the most important festivals, and beginning of the Jain year. Jains celebrate Diwali to mark the time when Lord Mahavira achieved Moksha. It is also a significant festival for the Sikh faith.

Back to the topic... Since Deepavali falls on Saturday, its a Half Day for most working personnel on the eve. So alot of customers came to the cafe pretty early around 8pm, almost full house by 9pm! Interesting event of the night was a performance by one regular customer by the name of Brandon! It happened to the birthday of a pretty lady who's celebrating her 18th birthday~! (most females are always 18years old repeatedly over the years heh~ :p ) So Stella wanted to listen to 男人不该让女人流泪 so Vynson the host of the night invited Brandon to sing the song! Halfway through out the song, Vynson decided to heat things up! He changed the song to 脱掉 and challenged Brandon to strip for Stella~ Vynson demonstrated by taking off his jacket~ Bcoz he wore 2 jackets! Haha~ Brandon only had a shirt on only~ Brandon was still too shy to take off his shirt and he prompted that if Stella comes on stage with him he will strip~! Stella being a sporting lady, game on! She took off her jacket as well and went on stage. Brandon's face went red immediately bcoz Stella proceeded on to unbutton his shirt for him~! Too explicit so no photos were taken to protect the image of both Brandon & Stella :p But thanks to Stella, Brandon and Vynson, they warmed up the crowd on that night~ =)

On Deepavali that night, there was also another interesting performance! A dance performance by a female patron~ Not bollywood style but techno style~! She danced to the song of 眉飞色舞 using our KTV system. Wow...the crowd was stunned by her dance moves bcoz it looked really professional~ Anyway hope everyone enjoyed themselves for the weekend~ =)

HAPPY DEEPAVALI~!
