Ha ha HA!!!!! I've done it!!! In just few hours time!

Wah Ha!!! Smarty smarty me have set up a new blog already!!!
After procrastinating for few weeks to re-locate our blog to a new address, I have completed the task in just 2 hours! Kek Kek KEK!!!

Anyway, today is SAT....Let's just gossip what happened today for our Live Shows....

Hmm... SHOCKING ReSults Today!!!!!
We just tabulated the audiences' feedback for the AIPS....
For the past 2 weeks, Kenneth, Elyse and Leonard were the top 3 so far.....

Ehem......Today........*shake head*.......

Seems like Leonard is the only one who's still one of the few tops runners....

Fiona, Yingzhi and Sarah have gotten many ticks tonight!!!
They managed to perform well today and left a good impression to the listeners!!! That's the way, man.... I will blog more about their performances later..... this is just a 'prelude'!!!

I have been PROCRASTINATING for the last 2, 3 weeks already!!!!!!

I need to move the BLOG to another blog address.....but I have been delaying to set up the new BLOG.....HMmm.....Paiseh, guys....

During our 实在歌手Challenge on last SAT....all the singers were thrown a 临场 question to test on their 应变能力。。。Most of the questions were thrown by our very very talkative Weicai...and boy...he can really come up with many weird..weird ideas man.....

Questions like:
1. If people don't like your face...and tells you that it's ugly..what would you do or say to that person?
2. If you are walking on a street and someone comes up to you and ask..."Eh..你整容啊"? How would you react?
3. If someone approaches you, and ask you to be a model and need to reveal "三点"s....你肯不肯？
4. Why you wear SUPERMAN belt every week? (Eh....actually, this questions is thrown by an audience!Hahaa...)

Hmm...all these are done to 考验 on their 'talking' skills....letting them learn how to present themselves well! This coming SAT..they will be doing something more challenging! They will be pairing up within themselves to introduce each other. Let's 期待！

So far, in just 3 weeks of performances, we can see that the AIPs (Artistes-In-Progress) have been improving by leaps and bounds! Their singing skills has improved under our pressure...they are also more aware of their performing etiquette and personal grooming.

We have put in many many efforts helping them to grow and blossom into a Recording/Performing Artiste.

Their training is on every Sunday afternoon, starting at 3pm. The weekly lesson was planned held for about 2 hours....but every Sunday...it will definitely stretched into 7~8pm....That's 4-5 hours! That's how committed we are to help our Artistes!

Every Saturday, rehearsals starts at 5pm...and ends right up to 8pm! Yes, that much effort were put into bringing a good show to all of you!

Coming up soon for the plans is they will be entering the recording studio very soon....
We are planning to let them handle and sing demo songs which are suitable for their voices.
This is to test on their vocal handling in a recording studio..

Exciting, ba......!!!

Okok...Let's talk about last week's performance...

As mentioned before, they did a different song genre for last SAT performance. Some did R&B, some did HIP HOP, some did Pop Rock, some did Folk ROck!......(Wah...so many styles...I also 乱了..)
We have many laughs during the night...some started from the talkative Weicai...who blabbered on like no one's business which 'irritated' Mr AMOS.....some from the audiences' participation in giving the AIPs feedbacks and throwing them questions...

So, I would say it's rather light-hearted to spend the evening here at Performing Studio @ Hark
Here's how the AIPs performed last week.

FIONA
She did a rather good breakthrough by rapping her song! And definitely...she has improved in her dressing to make her stand out more from the rest....Good..Keep it up! But go on and explore more in your dressing and grooming.

SARAH
Overall...she still emits the 'blur' feel to the audience..Hmm..it can be good and bad..it gonna depends how the audience/listeners percieve that....She got to buck up on her stage presence, which is lacking during her ROCK version of 一个像夏天一个像秋天.. Her eye contact was a little 'lost'.....加油！加油！

YINGZHI
She's got stable stage presence in singing...but once she talked, ehh....ehhhh...ehhh....alot of ehhhs..ahhhsss will come out!!! Hmm..that shouldn't happen! Yingzhi emits a character singer look and feel...her distinctive voice also sets her apart easily from other AIPs...So...maintain your character! Don't become 'soft soft' and have that intimidated look in you!

JUNMING
He did well in his ROCK delivery of 自导自演的悲剧. His voice control was much powerful and bright compared to his normal singing...I think he did best among the AIPs that night for the different genre delivery. Good job, man!

JOANNE
No doubt Joanne always managed to carry across as a very approachable gal. This week, I feel she did not manage to deliver her song well. Her Pop Rock version of 隐形人 lacks groove..and it was pitchy all over. She didn't manage to capture alot of good nods that night... Work harder, girl!

KENNETH
He got a unique sounding voice that always leave a deep impression in many for sure. Now, he gonna work and practice more than that. Having just an unique voice is not enough to last...That's just good for first impression. He still got to improve his projection and stage presence. And...he always 'stared' at people on stage...hmm...no good..no good...

RYAN
Many praised his rapping for 七里香！So, a DANCE version was also thrown to him! I would say he did fine for that as well.... He came across as not fashionable enough...so he gonna work on his dress sense.

ELYSE
Till now, many people probably still cannot figure if she's a shy gal or a 'dao' gal... So, her personality at the moment is still not strong enough. Vocally, she's one of the stronger ones...so no doubt, people always remember her for a strong, clear, studio quality voice. At only 19yrs old, you stand a good chance to have a break but gonna work harder on your personality and stage presence too...

LEONARD
He got a strong, ABC accented voice....His playful personality can put a smile easily on people's face. He kinda found his personality...but gonna see how audience take that.

So...the top 3 scorers last week were ELYSE, KENNETH, LEONARD.
Hmmmm.....same as the week before.....We hope all the AIPs have more fighting spirit to push yourself even further!

It WaS Sooo aWeSOmE!!! BreaThTaking~~~

Wow Wow WOW!!!!!

I haven't started posting about the FRIDAY show...so many people has already talked about it in our tagboard!!!

That's our dear Xinyun's 魅力!
I am sure all who were present felt their breath taken away!!!
~~~~~ It was so heart-pounding..yet soo soulful. ~~~~~

She sang 回家 with a bossanova twist in the middle...Refreshing feel! And the highlight was singing LISTEN by Beyonce from the Dreamgirls Movie...It was just simply soo emotional..makes me wanna cry~~~ Never heard someone singing it LIVE...I saw Beyonce Live in youtube..but it was 2 keys lower than the original recording...She sang it in original key! Aiyo~~ dunno how she did that... *hands hit shaking head*

I really yearn for another time like this!! Heh heh...I'll try persuade her to sing again next Friday!!! LOL!!

Well, the only setback was the sound system wasn't doing justice yesterday...The sound system was rather 'funny' on the night...It just didn't sound quite right....
We spent the rest of the night till about 1am++ re-adjusting the sound to make it sound right again...Next time, I think it will sound much much better! Let's 期待！

Well, another highlight of the Friday's show was Vynson's 你那么爱她...
Amos challenged him to sing 4 different feel in just a chorus! (Well, you know....Vynson has been singing this song umpteen times......)
Not only he needs to sing in various genres...his body gonna move in the right beat too with the drum beats!

In just 1 chorus, he need to change genres in every 2 bars throughout the chorus.
He did a normal version, Cha Cha version, HiP HoP version and ROCK! He gonna switched through them fast! The climax was when he did the HiP HoP...with his 'Yo！Yo!... kuoa teoh gwee (hokkien:看到鬼) ' improvisation..... HaHahahaa...makes everyone just fell back once he reaches this section... *thinking of it still makes me laugh out loud now!*

He's really one hell of a great performer and entertainer!!!

And..........what's more witty was Amos sabo-ed him to sing the chorus over and over again....draining him out!! And 'bad bad' Amos still add a 'lang sai'(hokkien: 人狮 liondance) segment between..where Vynson just sprawled up and did the 'lang sai' action whilst singing the song! Can't imagine how it will looks like, how it sounds like? No problem!

We are now collating the videos and doing editing to them....will have them ready very soon!!
Our long delayed new website will be ready very soon! On hold..on hold...we are also rushing the developers very badly too.....

HARK STUDENT SINGING COMPETITION

Calling all active and former Hark Students!!!
We are organising a Hark Student Singing Competition to let all of you gain more experiences, exposures and also to get to interact with more music lovers like you! So, we hope all of you can join in this friendly competition and pit your skills with your fellow Hark friends!

Over $1,500 CASH and Prizes to be won! Potential Singers will be offered a HARK ARTISTE CONTRACT too!

Never think that you can't make it, or you don't have the calibre.....it is always a learning process..where you try to grab as much opportunity as you learn and someday you will reach to where you want to be!
It does not only apply to those who wish to have a singing career. Even if your humble goal is just to sing well, this is a very good opportunity to hone your singing skills and also to build up your stage confidence so that you can deliver your singing pieces well in front of your friends and family!

We hope to see as many music enthusiacts as possible to join in this friendly challenge!

Being an Artiste is not easy.....

On SAT.The Real Singer Challenge 实在歌手大考验, our Artistes-In-Progress (AIPs) faced their very first challenge and pressure as they needed to deliver 2 songs and gained as much votes from the audience as possible to prove their popularity and appeal. Each and every audience has to vote for 3 of their favourite AIPs.....(I will reveal the top 3 at the end of this post...)

Rehearsals for that day started at about 5pm and stretched up to almost 8pm..just right before the show time!!! Pressure is everywhere.....Many people were already waiting outside the studio......Phew~~~~Hot....Tense...everywhere......

Tonight, one of 'famous' Hark host - Weicai was roped in to add more 'variety' to the show...
I bet many of you may missed his crap talking skills.....c'mon down to support him next SAT...he'll be around to co-host too!

Other than the AIPs, one of our Hark Artiste - Eddie Tan 陈弘炫 was the guest performer of the night...who got some whistles' blows from our ladies audience when he mentioned that he's gonna bring us the song - 我可以! Haha...that showed his charm one more time! He also brought us another groovy number - 普通朋友.

Here, our AIPs was waiting anxiously to deliver their well-practiced pieces...hmmm...solemn faces....

It was a full-house night! Drinks were given to all audience on SAT night...so, you can have some drinks, relax, enjoy the performances and vote for your favourites! Isn't that a fun experience on a Saturday evening???

Coming this Saturday...more interesting stuffs gonna happen....

All the AIPs will be delivering a chosen song, with 2 versions....meaning, they will sing a normal version of the song and a either R&B, Hip Hop, or ROCK version to show their versatility!

I have seen them rehearsing during their lesson last SUN...I must say, it was a breakthrough for most of them....under our Music Director's guidance...they've shown a different side of them after advices from our Music Director - Amos Teo!

So, if you guys can make a date with us this SAT, c'mon down and show these AIPs your support....and vote them to keep them in the run to be our next Hark ARTISTE!!!!!

We did some improvements....:)

Last weekend was our 2nd week of our shows in the new place...

Feedbacks from the 1st week...we have done some minor additions to the shows...(you see, we are constantly looking for improvements!)

Before the show starts for FRI.Open Mic or SAT. The Real Singer Challenge, we warmed up the crowd by talking to them, letting them know what's going to happen and of course...cracking up some little jokes...haha...

We know the seating arrangements now, though much more comfortable then before when enjoying the music shows, it does portray a little 'tense' and 'cannot have fun' mood.....Yea, yea....we know all these...we will be working on some ideas to make everything feel more balanced...

Soon...we may be having a SnackBar!!! Providing some drinks and titbits to nimble on....working...working on that..anyone wanna take up this 'stall'?? HAhahaaa....

So, what happened last FRIDAY???

A number of singers already 'signed' up with us with their performing slots! Good! This way, our live band are able to anticipate better on the songs and prepare to ensure smooth delivery~~~
